Hello
My wife sought asylum as Refugee as separated on domestic violence and she came with our 3 children, oldest child is 13. She is now a protected person in Canada and a PR holder. She wants a divorce. I want to apply for visitor visa based on a friend's invitation and go visit my children. How can I apply such that I will be granted? Please advise as I really miss my children and would like to see them

What you really need is a custody agreement with your spouse. It will likely be difficult for you to get a TRV because of your ties to Canada. This is really a family court issue first.

Thank you. So I'm able to apply for custody or visitation through a family court in Canada even though I don't reside there?

Yes you can, but Custody wont guarantee Visa Approval. The issue is you still have family ties, and in the eyes of IRCC, your wife is here in Canada. Applying visitor visa through someone else instead of Family Sponsorship will raise red flag
