Hello Everyone,

I wanted to start this thread to track the timelines for Work Permit Extension applications submitted with a Provincial Support Letter. If you’ve already received approval, please do share your timeline to help others in the group.

Current Status: PGWP Expired November 2024
Stream: OINP
WP-Extension Applied On: October 1, 2024

If your work permit is LMIA-exempt, employer-specific, and a closed work permit, you must have an Offer of Employment number (starting with 'A****') and a fee receipt paid by your employer. This is necessary for processing, as your employer will create the job offer listed in your nomination on the IRCC employer portal mentioning your passport number and job details. Other documents, such as your passport, nomination certificate, and additional identification, are straightforward to work with.

Hello everyone. My PGWP extension expires in Feb 2025 and I've already applied for PR (was returned and reapplied in Sept 2024). With the current rate of AOR issuance I have contacted my employer who is willing to give me an LMIA exempt number. But I'm a little bit confused with the process, especially trying to create the application. The questionnaire is asking if I have a spouse who has a work permit. My answer is yes (my husband is here with an open work permit under me) but I'm not sure if that's what they want to hear cos then the forms made available to me is not like what I see on the guide. Somethings are missing.
Please someone help with this and if you have any link with information that will help me, that would be great, thanks

Hi, I have similar issue like you said, if I say yes (my husband is here with an open work permit under me) but then the forms made available to me is not like what I see on the guide. but when I say no then I can see exactly same document checklist as per the guidelines. @Miss bee could you please help me?

@Miss bee I am applying closed work permit with the Work permit support letter and ONIP nomination certificate from ONIP, when I say yes for spouse who holds a valid work permit then it's showing me different set of documents and asking me to apply open work permit but when I say no to the same question then I can see exactly same checklist in the portal. will it be considered as misrepresentation ? or is it a technical error in their system?
