Very basic explanation of the process:Hello Everyone,
I have a small issue here and i'm not sure if anyone is able to help. I feel so lost whenever I open this thread and read through it, I have no clue what Portal 1 and Portal 2 are for example.
I applied for PMP non express entry last November and it says " Submitted " under status, is it still too early for me to go through these portals or is that phase called portal 1?
I have not applied for the work permit extension that I received thru my email since my Work Permit expires January 2026 and I'm hoping this all ends with an acceptance before my WP expires.
- You submit your application, also known as AR.
- You receive AOR (Acknowledge of received) around 4-5 months after submitting your application. With this AOR, you can apply for a BOWP (bridging open work permit).
Note here: if your nomination is employer restricted, you can't apply for BOWP. You must apply for a closed work permit.
- You may get ADR (additional document request) starting from this point in your application. Some (like me) have gotten ADR with AOR.
- Most PNP applicants get BIL (biometrics instructions letter) even if they have valid biometrics done in the past 10 years.
- You may also get a request for medical exams.
- PAL (pre-arrival letter) is another generic email, normally a good sign on your application process.
- You'll get Portal 1 requesting you to update some information.
- Portal 2 is sort of a confirmation that your application will be approved.
- COPR (confirmation of permanent residency).
- eCOPR (electronic confirmation of permanent residency).
- PR card delivered (last step).
