Need Help with My Citizenship Application

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone in the community has experienced something similar or can offer some advice regarding my delayed citizenship application.
I submitted my application in September 2023 and received my Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR) on September 7, 2023. I also completed my citizenship test in October 2023. However, it’s been over a year since I applied, and I haven’t received any updates on my case.

I’ve been trying to create an account on the Citizenship Tracker to follow up, but I’m running into an issue. When I enter my UCI and application number, the tracker recognizes my email and attempts to send me a verification code—but I never receive the email. I’ve checked my spam/junk folder, tried different devices, and even contacted IRCC, but nothing has worked so far.

The delay is becoming very stressful, especially since my PR card has now expired. If anyone has faced similar issues or has suggestions on what I can do, I’d really appreciate your help!

I called them about 3 times already and got no information as to why there is a delay in the application processing, all is get is that your application is still under processing, some applications take longer than the average processing time and there is nothing additional we need from you.

Apply for GCMS notes and see if Security clearance is pending for you.

I just applied for notes after reading your reply, I think thats what my application is stuck in security clearance, if it is, is there any way to move thing around to get it processes fast?

Not much can be done if it's stuck there. Some people apply for mandamus but that's a costly affair and no sure shot guarantee that it would lead to faster processing.

Oh boy, so we are kind of in the same boat, what else have you tried to get it up to speed? Did your PR application also took longer than usual? Were there any hiccups with any of your other applications? Why does an application get stuck in security clearance for that long?
