Looks like @abbas.pasha is using the answer of this question for the previous one

Have you lived for at least two years in the country where you are applying visa? Yes No -> This question is about Canada, so Yes

Have you ever visited India before ? YES / No -> This is with your Canadian passport, so No

Likely this question is from the fact that e.g. if you are a Canadian citizen living and applying for eVisa from the US

Hello, I hope someone might be able to help with this. We applied for e-visa (one year), for myself, daughter and wife. No issues with mine or my daughter's ETA. However, there is an issue with my wife's ETA. My wife's passport number starts with 0. In the ETA, they put O instead of 0. This is a mistake on their end as when we got the submission confirmation email it had correct passport number on it. We have sent an email to indian-evisa@gov.in asking to fix this. But it's been 4 days and haven't heard anything back yet. We will be sending them a note again and also send an email to support-boi@mha.gov.in

Does anyone know what to do if we don't get a response from them? Would we need to reapply for the visa? Also if we reapply, can they reject it since the E-visa was already granted (though with incorrect passport number)

Appreciate if anyone can help with this or share if they have gone through similar experience.

I have to travel to India urgently My father is in ICU just received my Canadian passport and applying for e-visa but I am not sure If I need Surrender certificate first.
Timeline to get surrender certificate is few weeks. I called BLS they gave me different answers.
can you advise if I can apply for e-visa without surrender certificate?
Thank you for your response in advance!

You dont need SC for eVisa.
Apply for eVisa online through this website https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html.
You do not need to deal with BLS for eVisa.
Only in the case of Entry Visa (x) you will need to go through BLS

Thank you for replying! Can you also advise what option will be faster: e-visa for 30 days or 1 year ?
and if 30 days is faster and can I apply for extension from India?

I don't think the duration defines the speed with which the e-visa is processed. In most cases you get it within 12 hrs. Better go with 1 yr one but you can live maximum of 180 days in India.

Hello forum,

I am planning to apply for my e-visa to India as a Canadian Citizen. My OCI application is currently under process, however, it will not be completed before my travel date hence the need to apply for e-visa. I have heard the process is quick and straight forward, so looking for a few application form related guidance below.

1. Does OCI application under process hold any bearing on the e-tourist visa application?
2. I am going with Citizenship/National ID No. as "NA" is that the correct response?
3. Under present occupation, I am going to with Other and putting 'Consultant' as my option as there isn't a direct drop down option for a Consultant. I work with a Big4 firm in Toronto. Is this okay?
4. Under 'Details of Friends/Relatives' (since my reason for visit is indicated as visiting relatives/friends), how much detail is required? I am writing 'visiting family' I am wondering what is the appropriate level of detail/response that needs to go in this?
5. Places to be visited - should I indicate the port of entry as well? E.g. New Delhi or just the final city of visit?
6. Countries visited in last 10 years - my understanding is this requires details of countries visited in last 10 year on the Canadian Passport and I have only recently traveled to 1 country. Is that what needs to go here?
7. References in India - Is it okay to indicate a family member? Father or brother?
8. Have you lived for at least two years in the country where you are applying visa? My understanding is this is related to Canada and answer is yes.
9. Not sure about the relevance of permanent address - Can I Indicate it as my present Canadian address?

1. Does OCI application under process hold any bearing on the e-tourist visa application?

Answer: OCI is a separate application. If it is under process then It won’t impact your e-tourist visa application. However if it gets approved while you are in India then Immigration Officer may ask you why you are not carrying your OCI? To reply you can tell them that It was under process when you left Canada for India

2. I am going with Citizenship/National ID No. as "NA" is that the correct response?

Answer: Yes, you can mention NA.

3. Under present occupation, I am going to with Other and putting 'Consultant' as my option as there isn't a direct drop down option for a Consultant. I work with a Big4 firm in Toronto. Is this okay?

Answer: Yes, that is okay. You may need to upload a work letter from your employer

4. Under 'Details of Friends/Relatives' (since my reason for visit is indicated as visiting relatives/friends), how much detail is required? I am writing 'visiting family' I am wondering what is the appropriate level of detail/response that needs to go in this?

Answer: You can mention visiting family/relatives and provide an address/phone number of your relative. To be honest, it’s just a formality. It does not impact on your application

5. Places to be visited - should I indicate the port of entry as well? E.g. New Delhi or just the final city of visit?

Answer: You can mention New Delhi and your hometown if it is different than New Delhi. That is enough

6. Countries visited in last 10 years - my understanding is this requires details of countries visited in last 10 year on the Canadian Passport and I have only recently traveled to 1 country. Is that what needs to go here?

Answer: You would need to list any country you visited in last 10 years on your Canadian and Indian passport.

7. References in India - Is it okay to indicate a family member? Father or brother?

Answer: Yes, it’s perfectly fine

8. Have you lived for at least two years in the country where you are applying visa? My understanding is this is related to Canada and answer is yes.

Answer: Your understanding is correct.

9. Not sure about the relevance of permanent address - Can I Indicate it as my present Canadian address?
Answer: Your permanent address will be your Canadian address.
