So, I’ve been trying to renew my PR Card. I used the Permanent Resident Portal for that. First time I submitted on April 10, got returned April 23, then I resubmitted on April 23, got returned on May 2. Then I resubmitted on May 2. Then May 3 I submitted 2 fresh new applications along even though I already submitted one. One got returned May 10 saying the reason was “You currently have an application in progress and the fee receipt corresponded is already being used upon your request” So should that mean they’re working on it? How long will it be until I get an answer and get my PR card.

Hello,

I am trying to renew my mothers PR card. She has not worked since coming here or back home so how do I fill the 4.2 Work and Educational History (Inside and Outside Canada) . i tried leaving the 'Name of employer or educational institution or organization (do not use abbreviations)' section empty and filled in Homemaker as activity. The system is not letting me Save and continue. How do I proceed? Please help

Hi guys, I want to make sure if I have stayed in Canada for 2years during last 5 years, is it still possible they don't accept the PR renewal application? I have heard even if you have resided 2 years they are strict for giving PR Renewal.
I would appreciate any experience.

Hi all,

Myself and my family are landed immmigrants in canada since April 2008. We lived here until until June 2018. In the meantime, my children got Citizenship while we decided to live in PR status.

After june 2018, due to various reasons, including COVID, we stayed outside Canada but returned to Canada just 40 days before expiry of PR Card. At the port of entry in Toronto, the officer reminded about PR obligations but allowed us to enter in Canada on April 26 th 2023. Since then we are living in canada. As per calculation, we complete 730 days by april 26 th 2025.

Can we apply for renewal of PR card by January 2025 ? Or should we wait until april 26 th 2025 ?

My Indian passport expires by february. So, i want to apply for card renewal by january 2025 itself. Is it fine ?

If needed, we can stay until april 26 th 2025, no need to hurry.

Pl reply.

Thanks

You should remain in Canada until you are in compliance and only apply for the PR card after that.

Can't tell you about your passport renewal. I believe there is no issue with applying for PR card renewal without a valid passport, but don't know for certain.

You should wait till you meet RO after April 26 and likely with some buffer time and then apply for PR card renewal.

I think it's better if you stay inside Canada until you have a new PR card and thus have more days to meet your RO in case you need to travel again.
