A few days ago, I had my refugee hearing and received a positive decision on the same day. I had no lawyer, no solid evidence, no interpreter, and the Minister had submitted a 10-page intervention questioning my credibility.

Despite all of this, I focused on my story. I explained the harm I faced, the fear of returning to my country, and why Canada is my only safe place. The board member listened carefully and made their decision based on my testimony alone.

This experience taught me that you don’t need a perfect case to succeed. What matters most is being honest, consistent, and clear about your story.

If you’re preparing for your hearing, stay hopeful and believe in yourself. Everything is possible. You can do this.

Congratulation.
Well, You are not alone in this boat.
I won my case in 2021 without any lawyer.
Yes, interpretor was there but he was sitting idle over there, cause there was no need for interpretation. Previously
I was selected for ICAC project and less complex claim.
In a short hearing, Won the decision on table.

Those who are reading this comment and waiting for future hearing . Pls take a look at below observations-
01. Be strict and straight in your point of view.
02. Believe what you had written in BOC form.
03. Explain why your life was in danger, what happen if you stay over there and what will happen if you return.
04. Your words and body language should stay on the same line.
