Hi guys, hope you are doing well.

Quick question about the documents required after receiving an ITA for my brother's points.

My real brother (by blood) is a PR in Canada and I am looking forward to claim his points in the Express Entry.

I want to know what documents i need to upload. As of now, we both have passports that have our same parents name on them.

Will it be enough to show the blood relation or anything else is required?

Please let me know, thanks.

You need birth certificates of you and your sibling
"Proof of the relationship of the applicant or the accompanying spouse or common-law partner to the family member must also be provided (e.g., a birth certificate, an official document naming the applicant as a relative, a copy of the inside back cover of the relative’s passport showing the relative’s parents’ marriage certificate, legal adoption documents and any other documents that prove or describe the relationship)."

This was taken from Canada's official website. In brackets e.g. it mentions some other documents too besides birth certificate, we can upload passport too? If in case, we do not have a birth certificate?

But how does a birth certificate will show that we both are related besides sharing last names?

On our birth certificates, we both have our parents names nothing else in terms of relation, just names and place of birth. Can you please tell me what else does a specific document should say?

Your birth certificates would show the same parents, their full names, not only last names. That's what birth certificates are supposed to show.

That's what our passports have as well. Their full names. I'm sorry but I'm trying to understand what am I missing her between passports and birth certificates when they share the same details for parents.

Apologies, i know it seems repetitive bht trying to understand what's what here and what IRCC will check in the documents.

If your passports explicitly indicate your parents, then you should be good.
