Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my story because often people post their issues on this forum but do not post after their issues are resolved and as a result forum users like me think that the issue was never resolved.
I completed two graduate certificate programs each of one year duration from University/college in Ontario. One from September 2022 to May 2023 and second one from September 2023 to May 2024. I applied my pgwp on may 9th, 2024. On August 9, 2024. I received only one year of PGWP even though I was eligible for 3 year PGWP. My classmates got 3 year PGWP.
I called IRCC on same day ( it was not easy at all) and after being in waiting line for hours, I tried explaining the customer service agent that I am eligible for PGWP of 3 year. She kept asking other useless questions which were not even relevant to my profile and suddenly hung up. Then, on 19 August, 2024 again called IRCC. This time there was a different agent, she listened to me and then said I only uploaded letter of completion for one program and that's why I was given only one year PGWP. I said that can't be possible I have all the documents with me and both the letters of completion were uploaded. She said she will check again and put me on hold, suddenly the call failed. I was pissed because I waited for hours in line to talk to a customer service agent. Fortunately she called back and said yes, she found the second letter of completion too and a note will be put on my file and it will be forwarded to Visa officer. After one month I again called for follow-up they said all I can do is wait. I asked if webform will expedite the process. I was told it would not do anything because file has been transferred internally and there is no need for webform. After 4 months, there was no update and I watched a social media influencer who said he was in same case and webforms did nothing to help him and he approached his MP for that. I also did same and approached my MP, provided all my information and explanation of what my issue was. And within two weeks after my submission of information to MP. I received my revised PGWP of 3 year duration on 12 December, 2024.
