Study Permit Amendment and PGWP Eligibility After Nov 1, 2024

Hi,
I am planning to request an amendment to my study permit to include eligibility to work off campus. However, I understand that under the new PGWP rules, my program is no longer a field of study eligible for PGWP. If I request the amendment now, will this affect my future PGWP eligibility? I am concerned because the amended study permit will have a new issue date, which will be after November 1, 2024.

I think the old date will still be considered as the issued date, given that you did use that to keep on studying while being inside Canada. However, it's best to call IRCC and just ask them to rule out any further doubts.
