1. Apply for a Work Permit Extension with a New Passport
Since her LMIA is valid for two years, she can renew her passport and apply to extend her work permit before it expires on January 9, 2025. She will need the new passport details to request the extension. Applying before the expiry will allow her to maintain implied status until a decision is made.

2. Apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP)
Once she receives her AOR for the PR application (expected by February 2025), she may be eligible to apply for a BOWP. However, since the AOR might come after January 9, 2025, she will need to ensure she maintains her status through other means (e.g., the extension in point 1) until then.

3. Switch to a Visitor Status
If extending her work permit isn’t feasible before January 9, 2025, she can apply to change her status to that of a visitor. This will allow her to remain in Canada legally while awaiting her PR AOR. However, as a visitor, she cannot work.

4. Restore Status (if Necessary)
If her status expires before she can take action, she may be able to apply to restore her status within 90 days of losing it. Restoration would allow her to resume her work permit or change to another status. However, it’s better to act before her work permit expires.

Suggested Immediate Actions:
• Renew her passport as soon as possible.
• Apply for a work permit extension well before January 9, 2025, using the LMIA and new passport details
• Monitor her PR application status for updates, especially for the AOR.
Thank you so much

Filling out the Supplementary Information – Travels section correctly is crucial to ensure your immigration application is complete and accurate.

1. Should I include trips back to my country of origin (Pakistan) in this section?
Yes, you should include all international travel, including trips back to your country of origin. This section is meant to document your travel history outside the country where you were residing at the time. For example, if you were living in the United States and traveled to Pakistan, you should list those trips as well. Provide the dates, purpose (e.g., visiting family, vacation), and duration for each visit.

2. Does my move from the U.S. to Canada count as a “trip,” or is it considered a change in residence?
Your move from the U.S. to Canada is considered a change in residence rather than a trip. However, if you made a short visit to Canada (e.g., the trip to Toronto you mentioned) before officially moving, that visit should be listed as a separate entry in the travels section. For the move itself, you typically document it under the personal history or address history sections of your application, not in the travels section.

3. Do I need to list only trips to countries other than Pakistan, the U.S., and Canada?
No, you need to list all international trips, regardless of the countries involved. The instruction typically requires you to list any travel outside the country where you were residing at the time, regardless of the destination. For example:
• If you were residing in the U.S. and traveled to Canada or Pakistan, these should be listed.
• If you were residing in Canada and traveled back to the U.S. or another country, those trips should also be included.
Thank you so much for your reply.

Hi
I've applied for my Non express PNP application in Aug's last week till now i haven't got any update . How long is it taking on files to process or get AOR thrse days please tell

@Miss bee

I applied on July 5th and received AOR on Nov 22. The next day on Nov 23, I got BIL, and the medical also passed. On Nov 25 I gave biometric , which was updated in GC Key. However, I still have not received PAL. Is it normal? As I show a few timelines, where generally they got PAL after biometric or medical. In my case, both have been done, though there is no update on PAL. Please advise me.

Thanks

hi @Miss bee : I have been waiting for the last 10 weeks for my eCOPR. My P2 date was October 4th, and I haven't heard anything from IRCC since then. Is this timeline normal, or should I reach out to my MP or other resources to get an update on my case? Please advise.

It is normal for the processing timeline of a PR application to vary from one case to another. While some applicants may receive their Pre-Arrival Letter (PAL) soon after their biometrics or medicals are updated, others might experience delays depending on the specifics of their application and the volume of applications being processed. Since you received your Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) on November 22, biometrics on November 25, and medicals were passed, it’s still relatively early in the process.
The absence of a PAL at this stage is not unusual, as PAL issuance depends on when the reviewing officer assesses eligibility. If you’re concerned, you may raise a webform inquiry to confirm your application is progressing normally.

I thought someone said that for Portal process, there is quite a lot differences in each case, and there is no way to track the process.

Hello Miss Bee. Please I need your urgent advise on this

I got nomination from Alberta Rural Renewal Stream, a job offer stream but it is stated that there is no restriction on employment on my nomination certificate. I am an outland applicant. I submitted my application in August and waiting for AOR.

I am currently in outside Canada and my employer business name is not active on the country business/ company's portal. It's showing inactive.

At what stage does officer check for employment validity?
Please can it affect my PR application ?

What can be the possible best solution. Thanks

In PR applications under employer-supported PNP streams, IRCC typically verifies the validity of employment at various stages, particularly during eligibility assessment. Officers may confirm whether the job offer supporting the nomination was genuine and valid at the time of issuance and may also check its current status.

Potential Impact on PR Application

1. Inactive Employer Status: If the officer determines that the employer is no longer operating, they may question the validity of the job offer, which could impact the application.

2. Honesty and Proactivity: Misrepresentation or failure to inform IRCC about significant changes in circumstances (e.g., the employer’s status) can negatively affect your application.

Best Solutions:
1. Contact Your Employer:
• Verify the reason behind the “inactive” status on the business portal. It could be an administrative issue, such as late filings, and might be resolvable.
• Request a confirmation letter from the employer stating that the job offer was valid at the time of nomination and clarifying the current situation.

2. Inform the PNP Office:
• Notify Alberta’s PNP program about the employer’s status, if required, and seek advice. Provinces often provide guidance or reassessments in such cases.

3. Prepare a Letter of Explanation (LoE):
• Submit an LoE to IRCC (once you receive your AOR) explaining the situation, including any supporting documents about the employer’s status and the no-restriction clause on your nomination certificate.

4. Seek Alternative Employment (If Possible): • If your stream allows, secure another job offer with an eligible employer in Alberta. Inform the PNP program and IRCC, updating them with the new offer.

Thanks for your response, it is inactive because of non filling of returns, can I just change my job and inform the PNP and IRCC after AOR, but my nomination be revoked?

Or can I withdraw my application and apply for extension of nomination because my nomination will soon expire, then reapply after the filing (company active) requirements has been met

I have applied in non express file after receiving the nomination letter in OINP for masters graduate stream.

TIMELINE:

5 March 2024 : Applied for non express file
19 June 2024 : Payment for biometrics
19 June 2024 : Link account to GC Key
19 June 2024 : Additional Information Required (Appendix A)
19 June 2024 : This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on 2024/03/05.
5 July 2024 : Acknowledgement of the webform (Appendix A submitted)
25 July 2024 : Additional document required (Employment Letter, Educational transcript)
26 July 2024 : Biometrics Completed
26 July 2024 : Medical Updated
30 July 2024 : Submitted the additional document
1 August 2024 : Review Started of the additional documents

After this stage there are no updates. They are still reviewing the additional documents.

I contacted my local MP Office regarding my file and they replied that my application is considered as none-routine as it has been transferred to Winnipeg office for additional review and verification.

Update in the file:

19 November 2024 : Received Pre-Arrival Letter.
02 December 2024: Final Decision has been made to your application
03 December 2024: Portal 1
09 December 2024: Portal 2

@Miss bee when can I expect my ecopr?

I also have one question @Miss bee
If I receive my ecopr and on website the timeline for the PR Card is 24 days. However with the ongoing situation of strike from Canada Post have the IRCC setup any alternate mailing system or Canada Post is the only one who is delivering the PR Cards?

Did anyone in the group has received the PR Card during the ongoing Canada Post strike?

I have booked my flights for India for 31st January so can I except PR card to be delivered before that timeframe?
