Hi all,

I have applied under family class sponsorship and got my PPR request on 7th Nov and submitted my passport on 11th Nov.

Last update I got of it reaching IRCC office on 13th November but haven't had anything since then.

Does anyone know what is the timeline for the passport stamping and copr to be dispatched? For my visitor's visa it was dispatched in 10 days after reaching IRCC office so this has me worried a bit.

I was hoping to book a flight on 8th December but looks like that option is out of the window now :D

My wife’s PR got approved last week and she got letter to submit her passport within next 30 days. But my wife’s passport is already with canada embassy in Delhi to print the visitor visa. it has been almost 20 days.

i am worried that they would take more time to print visitor visa on her passport and this might lead to delay and we might might miss deadline to resend the passport for COPR.

can somebody help in this situation?

Hello Abhi,

I was in similar situation but the opposite. We kept for dual intent visitor visa in June 6th and it was approved on October 31st after receiving the ppr for pr on October 25th and my wife's passport was already enroute to Delhi IRCC for COPR and one time entry visa stamping.

I'm going to explain my situation here:

1.) I contacted IRCC using the toll free number since im in Canada it was easy and they told its not an issue as PR is more important than visitor visa and they will only consider PR.
2.) Second i did was withdraw my visitor visa explaining my situation and then i raised a webform later on to get there attention.
3.) After few days i got response from IRCC saying my withdrawal request is considered and they forwarded my case to Delhi as it was processed over there and they only can issue the visitor visa withdrawal.
5.) Finally the withdrawal was confirmed on December 4th and i got dispatch from IRCC on December 9th.

Note: This is my case and your case is opposite to mine. I would advice you to contact Delhi IRCC and IRCC in Canada, explain your situation and they will advice you.

Hey Thanks for info. i am just worried about the timeline as they give us 30 days to submit the passport for PR stamping but the passport is already there at the visa office to stamp the visitor visa. It is there for last 20 days.

is it possible to call/email them to print the COPR as well on the passport while the passport is already there in visa office?

The timeline shouldn't be an issue. There is a note on the information letter -if you cant send the passport within 30 days - inform the visa office.

Just raise a webform with all the information you know and they will respond to that and do call IRCC immediately.
