Not until it was approved!! Also sorry I posted this In the wrong thread!!!
Thats Fine, Thankyou for quick response. So my situation is :
I am currently on implied status as my work permit has expired, and I have already applied for an extension. Recently, I got married and am considering applying for spousal sponsorship under permanent residence. I was wondering if I can apply for a spousal open work permit and start working once I receive the initial letter that I received for my bridging open work permit which says that I can work until decision is made .
Do I need to cancel my existing open work permit extension application before proceeding with the spousal open work permit application?

Someone else can chime in if I am wrong, but I dont think I would cancel your WP extension application. I would just go ahead and apply for PR, while waiting for your WP extension application. Again if I am wrong someone correct me!

I'm not 100% how it works but I'd recommend creating a new thread rather than posting in this one. There are a lot of experienced users who might know and I think your question would be more visible to them.

Good luck!

I just found this while reading up on my own stuff (since I've just had to apply for SOWP to maintain my own status...). There's a bit about 2 applications - gist of it looks like they'll just process both applications:

I hope this helps. Since you have already applied for work permit extension, you can def. work until the decision is made. As for the Spousal Work permit, you have to wait until AOR then only you can apply for SOWP. This link has instructions on how to apply for SOWP

Google the province you are living in + apply for health insurance, and read how to do it.

The issue is I still haven't made my permanent move to Canada. I'm planning on doing it next year. Can I do it from when I'm out of Canada or should I wait until I get there?
