So you applied with CAQ, funds in personal accounts, language tests. Interview is not common at all.In this case, is it a good sign or not?
My program is a master’s in computer science with thesis at the University of Quebec in Montreal.

I have been waiting since march end however I havent ordered GCMS notes and arent planning for itHello everyone,
I submitted my study permit (SP) application on May 13, 2024, and I still haven’t received a response. I ordered my GCMS notes to better understand the status of my application, and in the “Eligibility” section, it says “Recommended for Interview”.
This is very concerning for me, especially since I’ve noticed that most applicants from my country are not being asked to attend interviews. This leaves me completely lost. I will soon reach 7 months of waiting, and I don’t know what to do or what to expect.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation or have any advice to share? Should I be worried about the “Recommended for Interview” note, or is there a way this could be resolved without an interview?
Thank you in advance for your help!
So your GCMS notes say an interview is recommended so all you can do is wait.Yes, I am writing from a French-speaking country.
From Mumbai, india. Masters in Cybersecurity from Newyork institute of technology (private). Yup deferred from Fall to SpringWhich country, study program, and university? Did you defer from fall to winter?
What country are you from? Country of origin and doing a cybersecurity degree could have lead to the flag on your file. Very different situation than @lucifer7 who is not attending a public university.Ah, okay, your school is located in Vancouver. But why do graduate applications take so long? I have deferred from winter, and my start date is in a month. I even submitted web forms, but they haven’t been processed. I am in a very concerning situation because my university does not accept a second deferral of admission.
That's amazing! Good luck to you ahead. At least you received an update.Hi got an update.

thats not true, interview will not be requested nor conducted. Its just a procedure and a little thing mentioned in GCMS notes but it doesn't mean literally. If you go through few GCMS notes you'll realize what I am saying.Requesting an interview is very rare and usually if IRCC believes you are not a genuine student, faked documents or lied on application. You cannot resolve it without knowing the reasons. All you can do is wait and see if the note changes.
What is your school and program?
