Hello,
I submitted an outland application last year and last week I received an email from @cic.gc.ca asking me to fill out some information about myself (principal applicant) and when do I plan to return to Canada.
I replied to them with all the details mentioning that I will return to Canada on December 24, 2024. Given I work in the US, my plan is to visit canada from Dec 25 - Jan 9th for vacation.
Today, I received another email from them regarding my PR Portal access. The first question in their asks my to confirm I am residing in Canada. However, I am currently in the US and will only go to Canada on Dec 25th.
I have a few questions -
1. Let's say I travel to Canada in the next few days on a visitor visa and I submit the PR Portal information so that they can mail my PR card. How long will it take for my PR card to arrive, given the Canada Post strikes?
2. If I leave Canada after filling the PR Portal information but without taking the PR card, can I later travel back to Canada on a visitor visa?
3. In case I leave Canada and I'm asked to come in and pick up the PR card, can I apply for a PRTD and use that to travel back to Canada? What are my options here?
4. In this process, what is considered "a landing"?
Thank you.
