When my in-laws got selected in 2017, their processing was faster than the previous Fifo PGP backlogs. We rarely playing lottery but they got selected when we rolled dice. However, we didn't experience with the FIFO.
Ive been trying since 2015 and no luck :(( thats why Im saying it's gambling. One wins other loses. I am the one who lost ((

The issue is you were never guaranteed parent sponsorship in the first place so you didn’t gain anything but technically have also not lost anything. If anything it appears that IRCC has been overly generous with your parents and others allowing visitors to extend their visits multiple times giving the false impression that parents had moved to Canada and were not still considered visitors. Sadly this is leading to people trying to secure PR via H&C which is both an expensive process for taxpayers and like the asylum program is completely overwhelmed by applications. Asylum reform announcements appear to be coming soon and assume H&C has to come next. Rollback of supervisa visit length to 2 years should also happen but there will be extreme pressure from MPs and constituents not to do this. I am sure cuts to PGP quota already got a lot of pushback but Liberal quotas were increasing dramatically while healthcare is in crisis and we still need to prioritize economic immigration to offset other immigration programs. Those visiting on supervisas also place quite a lot of demand on the healthcare system which seems to be ignored. There is a shortage of workers and beds so having supervisa insurance doesn’t mean that there is no increased demands put on healthcare. The extra demand is especially bad on certain hospitals often already struggling with having to serve a population that has increased dramatically over the past 20 years. That said I do think IRCC and the Canadian government should be upfront about the realities of parent sponsorship and that it is not guaranteed especially within a certain time frame.

So if you'd have won, you'd say it was fair?
NO! I would have said it's ridiculously unfair to rest of the people who are deprived a right to family! Why are you even under this post? Did I ask for your opinion or comment? Please only comment if I ask you a personal question, dont comment if you are not in my situation or have been.

The right to have your extended family immigrate doesn’t exist. That isn’t denying right to have a family. Canada does not have the infrastructure to absorb everyone who wants to sponsor their parents. Seniors, many of them immigrants, have paid taxes all or most of their adult lives also want access to a family doctor, a bed in LTC, a specialist appointment, etc. If we can’t meet the need of existing seniors how can Canada be expected to welcome any parent who wants to immigrate? I guarantee a large percentage of Canadians has no idea you can sponsor a parent or try to apply for H&C for parents or you would hear a lot more outrage.

Your file still literally in the pool, so you did not lose yet. If they haven't scrap the pool yet or still select from the pool next year,, your application still have the chance of being selected.

I'm genuinely sorry your feel that way. I understand how hopeless/stressful the immigration process feels. I dont have much to add but just throwing some positivity in here ... scylla (first page) and steaky (above) seems to have some good advice, so don't lose hope!
