Hi,

my wife had her medical done except for X ray which we sent in the deferral letter, after a month I received this letter Can someone please explain me, We paid the fees for complete medical already, I haven’t received any new instructions for new medical it just say upfront medical required in submitting documents portal,

After a preliminary review of your application, the following has been deemed required:

Please provide the current residential address for yourself and your dependant family member (if applicable). You
must report any changes to your address, telephone number(s) and email address immediately throughout the
processing of your application

> Medical: Complete or provide proof of completion of the Immigration medical examination You are
required to complete an Immigration Medical Examination in support of your application for permanent residence.
This requirement cannot be waived. Instructions for your new medicals have been sent to you separately.
Note: For applications that have a non-accompanying dependant on file, the dependant is still required to undergo a
medical examination.
This must be received at this office by: 2024/12/28
As a reminder, you are required to have all your family members be examined as part of the process of applying for
permanent residence in Canada, even if they will not come to Canada with the principal applicant. This examination
of your non accompanying dependent is in accordance with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulation
section 70(1)(e).
If you are unable to submit the requested document(s), you must notify our office before the due date with an
explanation and proof as to why you are unable to submit the documents.
If we do not receive a response from you within the allotted time, a decision will be made based on the
information on your file, which could result in the refusal of your application.

Paying the fee doesn't mean completing her medical. She needs the X-ray to complete. If she cannot do it, and you already submit defer request, it's likely that IRCC didn't get that request or that didn't get the up front medical into her file.
You didn't post any details but if you are sponsoring your wife as a spouse from outside Canada, she is the ONLY close family member and the PA. (parents and siblings are not family members )

Why do you need to do up front medical? I think this is the "medical request letter".

So respond to this request with the medical info again (the record/receipt) and your explanation or not able to do her medical now.

Thank you for the reply, Im the sponsor a Canadian citizen, Yes i am sponsoring my wife as spouse outside Canada, she did complete her medical except for the xrays, we got the deferral letter from the panel physician which we submitted via webform

Later I received the information letter stating that my child will be a Canadian citizen therefore my wife’s application is on hold until the decision is made on childs citizenship application, I think they didn’t receive the pregnancy deferred letter which we submitted , Today I received a request letter which i copy pasted above

I can see a slot open to submit the upfront medical, and they said they have sent new medical instructions (I didn’t received anything)
im not sure it’s just XRay or have to re do all of them again?

my question is should my wife just go for X ray after delivery of the child and submit childs citizenship application?

should I update her current residential address and re submit the same IME letter which she got from the panel physician via webform or wait until delivery and let her complete her Xray and submit the new IME form?

I think it make sense to re submit the same IME letter and include a letter of explanation.
