How do you have piece of mind based on Tok’s posts? It appears as though he encountered difficulties being able to sponsor the children. People need to consult a reputable Canadian immigration lawyer before adopting children especially family members who are not orphans.
This right here!

People fail to understand that immigration is a very legal process. It goes beyond simple form filling and collecting documents. It is compliance to the laws, regulation and values of the country. Get a proper advice for anything that is beyond basics. Adoption is not something that a lot of people do on this forum. And international adoption makes things even more complicated.

Get a personalized advice from a lawyer as @canuck78 suggested. It will save you a lot of headache and money down the road.

Forget about money, children could be adopted only to discover they can’t be sponsored by their family members in Canada. Please consult lawyers before taking any steps towards the adoption of a relative especially if they are not an orphan.
