PGWP Refusal - Please help me!!!

Hi folks,

So I graduated in May 2024 and applied for a PGWP. Since I was a part time student for 2 semester (with valid reason, during Covid), my application was refused 2 days ago (11/21). I talked to my school advisor and they said because the 180 days time frame was over so now I cannot apply for a new work permit. On the refusal letter it said I can apply for restoration status but I have no idea how that works even after reading on CIC website. I believe one of the options is to send a reconsideration form but again not sure what the chances are..

Has anyone been in my situation? Can you please advise what I should do here and what are my options?

The exact wording is: “Foreign students in Canada are eligible for a work permit for post-graduation employment only if they have maintained full time student status in Canada during each academic session of the program or programs and have completed a program of study that is at least eight months in duration”

Did you mention those special measures during COVID in your application? The officer is not supposed to know all that. It's your responsibility to provide all the details and proofs

Stop working because you have to restore status and then wait for PGWP approval. You were part time due to Covid so you would have approved documentation from the school for that. Or were there other reasons>
