I’m in a similar situation, as I need to travel in early January next year. I’m hopeful that I’ll receive the eCOPR email before my trip, but if I don’t have my PR card by then, can I re-enter Canada using my current eTA and work permit, or will they become invalid once I receive the eCOPR?

What can I do? suggestions/advice would be highly appreciated thanks.
Once you receive eCOPR all your other visa related documents become invalid. If you leave before you receive your PR card, you will have to apply for a PRTD once you leave. You can only apply for that outside of Canada.

What was your experience after you received your COPR? Did you notice in your CIC account if IRCC cancelled your eTA?

Yeah, I have heard of that, never knew that I could only apply from outside Canada. My trip is just for 3 weeks max and I doubt that PRTD will be processed before that.

I asked my lawyer about this when I didn't receive my PR Card and he said it takes around 2 months usually but you can ask IRCC to do it faster as it is an emergency.

i don't think they will cancel as the ETA will automatically expire beyond the expiry date just like Work Permit

Is it possible to enter into USA and then into Canada via land border with eCOPR?

yes you do not need a PR Card or PRTD if you are entering Canada through a land border in your private vehicle.
I know my question will sound silly but I missed this tiny detail above so I have to ask :p

It doesn't matter if I am flying from another country to the US via air and then entering Canada via in private vehicle. It would be fine right on ETA or eCOPR?

yes as long as you are entering Canada via land border in your private vehicle you do not need a PRTD or PR Card but i think you still need a visa to enter Canada along with your ECOPR, but you only need a visa if you were already living in Canada and then went outside then tried to enter again via land order and on the other hand if you never entered Canada before then a PRTD will be issued to you along with ECOPR.

Yeah, I have a visa stamped on my passport that was issued with my work permit. That is fine, right?

yes as long as it will be valid by the time you going to enter Canada again through land border, so once you enter Canada through land border just show them a print of your ECOPR, your passport visa and if they ask you where is your PR Card then just tell them that you haven't received it yet.

P2 - 28 October

Still waiting for my eCOPR. The simplest step in the entire process for becoming a permanent resident is taking the longest, with no established timeframe. One of my project assignments is on hold because I can't apply for the needed security clearance without becoming a permanent resident first. In December, I have two short work trips outside North America and a long holiday planned for Christmas. My only hope is that my eTA doesn't get cancelled the moment I receive my eCOPR in the portal—so at least the airline will still allow me to board my flight to Canada.

I had a not so lovely chat with a IRCC phone agent earlier today, and they will only intervene by contacting the case officer when 3 months will have elapsed after P2.
Just as a note of encouragement, I was also told three months when I was waiting for eCOPR, I had my daughter waiting to join us in Canada and it was so frustrating, After they took more than three years to process my application three months seemed like an eternity, I even went on our local news to highlight the plight of immigrants waiting in queue for eCOPR,
I called IRCC every week, I told them I run a business which I have to hold back from expanding because my daughter and only employee cannot enter the country until the PA received eCOPR, which was absolutely true, When they said three months I made a huge deal of it to IRCC, my MP and anyone in authority who would listen, Most of all I prayed so fervently because our mental health was being seriously affected,
I said to IRCC that they make immigrants jump through hoops doing medicals so they won't be a burden on Canada but they failed to see the looming mental health crisis looming because of stressed out families.
Almost two weeks after, I got eCOPR, I was literally writing another letter to the immigration minister when the email popped up,
Don't be afraid to make a little noise, the squeaky wheel gets the grease. And I agree with you, the immigrant agents were the least helpful, sometimes I hung up on them until I got a non immigrant Canadian, I know that sounds horrible but it is what it is, Here;s to the eCOPR tsunami!

It is my understanding that you eta, visitor visa, work visa and pgwp will all be administratively cancelled. You may however either apply for a PRTD or cross the US border into Canada an show your eCOPR.
