Hi,

I applied for GCMS notes for PR file. Can anyone explain what it means “Reassessment has been granted and a new medical certificate with a validity of 12 months has been issued in GCMS. Please pick-up this IME number again in order to update the medical validity on the application. PIU PR List March 1, 2024.” Does it mean I have to apply for medical and re-do it?

“A PP eligibility Approval letter or email was sent to the PA on 2024-09-13. As the correspondence was sent via the BATCH EMAIL and LETTER APP (BELA), there is no copy of the letter or email attached to the application.”

Also, can I change my PA? Can I raise a webform to do that?

Here’s a breakdown of the information in your GCMS notes and answers to your questions:

1. Medical Reassessment Update

• What it says: “Reassessment has been granted, and a new medical certificate with a validity of 12 months has been issued in GCMS. Please pick-up this IME number again in order to update the medical validity on the application.”

• What it means:

• Your original medical assessment has been reassessed, and a new medical validity has been issued for another 12 months.

• The IME (Immigration Medical Examination) number mentioned here refers to your updated medical record in the GCMS system. This means you likely don’t need to redo the medical exam unless explicitly asked by IRCC. The officers simply need to update your application with this extended medical validity.

• If you’re unsure, you can confirm through a webform or wait for any specific communication from IRCC asking you to redo the medical.

2. PP Eligibility Approval Letter

• What it says: “A PP eligibility Approval letter or email was sent to the PA on 2024-09-13. As the correspondence was sent via the BATCH EMAIL and LETTER APP (BELA), there is no copy of the letter or email attached to the application.”

• What it means:

• PP Eligibility stands for Primary Applicant Eligibility. This note indicates that the primary applicant (PA) met the eligibility requirements for the program under which you applied.

• The letter or email confirming this was sent on September 13, 2024. Since it was sent through a batch email system, no copy is stored in your application. You should check your email inbox (and spam/junk folders) around that date for any communication from IRCC.

3. Changing the Primary Applicant (PA)

• Can you change the PA?

• No, you cannot change the primary applicant in a submitted permanent residence (PR) application. The PA is fixed once the application is submitted.

• If your circumstances have changed and a different person in your family now needs to be the PA, you would need to withdraw your current PR application and submit a new one.

Thank you!!! This is very helpful.
For the last point, I meant that my file was applied by a immigration consultant. His email and immigration firm address is on the file and all the information regarding my file is sent to his email. Is there any way I can change the email on the file to my own? So that I become the first point of contact regarding any update on the file? If so, how can I do that?

Yes, you can change the contact information on your file so that your email address becomes the primary point of contact instead of your consultant’s. Here’s how you can do it:
How to Change the Email on Your PR File
You’ll need to notify IRCC via a webform to update your contact information and remove your consultant as the primary point of contact.
Steps to Take
1. Raise a Webform to Update Your Contact Information
• Use the IRCC Webform to notify IRCC about the change.
• In the webform, mention that you would like to:
• Remove your representative’s email address from the file.
• Update your personal email address and mailing address (if needed) as the primary contact

2. Complete the IMM 5476 Form (Optional if Representative Authorization Exists)
If your consultant had submitted an IMM 5476 (Use of Representative) form on your behalf, you may also need to:
• Complete a new IMM 5476 form to cancel the existing representative authorization.

• On the form:

• Select “Cancel Representative.”
• Fill out your details and the representative’s details (as listed in your original application).
Once completed, upload the form via the webform or follow the instructions provided by IRCC.
Things to Keep in Mind

1. Transition Period:
• IRCC may still send some communication to your consultant while they process the change. Be sure to follow up and confirm the update has been made.
2. Check Your GCKey/PR Portal:
• If you have access to your application in the GCKey or PR Portal, ensure your email address is updated in your account as well.
3. Communication After the Update:
• Once the change is processed, all updates (letters, instructions, etc.) will go directly to your email.
