Informing IRCC of pregnancy

Hi,

I am sponsoring my husband for PR (inland) and have recently found out I am pregnant. From what I have read, I don't need to inform IRCC about the pregnancy but I do about the birth of a child. Would submitting proof of pregnancy help with the application or is it useless to inform them before the birth? (As supporting document of us being a real marriage- we have plenty of other documents to support this that have already been submitted with the application).

Thanks in advance!

pregnancy do not help with the application. You can update the additional family member form after your child is born.
(child would be Canadian and do not need to be in IMM0008.)

Hello
I have submitted a permanent resident application on september14, 2023 under the QRSWP.
Recently we found out that my wife is pregnant. we have given biometrics and we are waiting to receive the medical exam letter. I don't know if I must inform IRCC about the pregnancy or not. it seems that when taking medical tests, pregnancy will be reported to IRCC by the panel physician, but I am not sure whether I should report it myself via a webform.
please help me if you have more information on it.
Thank you.

No harm sending a webform indicating the pregnancy. Assume you have looked up what is required to qualify for RAMQ. Many find out after arriving in Quebec that they won’t qualify for RAMQ and will be required to pay out of pocket.

What is RAMQ then?

What to mention in webform while reporting pregnancy ?
Do we need to attach proof of any template if anyone has used ?
I disagree with many of the comments saying you must inform IRCC of a pregnancy. You may wihs to do so - but I doubt it's going to affect anything (although possibly a small boost to evaluation of genuine relationship - but I emphasize small because a pregnancy doesn't actually prove much other than the one parent got pregnant).

Either way, a pregnancy is a legal nullity - what matters is change in family composition, and - well, it simply hasn't happened yet. Hence no obligation to inform.

That said, if you wish to, go ahead. Use a webform. But since it's a legal nullity, no 'proof' is needed (unless IRCC subsequently asks for it - which I've never heard of).

Note, this said, I don't exclude that there could be some circumstance where it is important. If you were not going to send in passports upon PPR because pregnancy 'any day now' - literally - then that's a possible reason.

But generally for apps - the main event simply has not happened.
