Hi

I am an international student and want to apply for a visitor visa for parents and did that for the convocation but got a refusal due to delayed processing times since the processing went beyond my convocation date. Now what reason should I state to call my parents to Canada since I can't state my birthday it passed and New Year and Christmas are to close for processing to happen on time.

What can be a strong reason to call them to canada after one refusal. Please advise

So reason for refusal was only because convocation date passed? That was the actual reason? Reason to visit is you.

Yes, I stated that I would love to have my parents here with me at the convocation in the invite letter.
It got refused since the decision came a month after the convocation date since current processing time is about 4 months from India.
Didn’t apply for the GCMS but we have sufficient funds and even attached proofs like leave sanction letter evidences that show they would return back after attending the convocation and celebrating with me. But now I’m not aware of another reason that’ll be strong enough to invite them

So what was actual written reason for refusal? What ties did they show that they will return? If both coming then no family ties? Are they both working? Do they have strong travel history?

You can’t actually invite them. They can apply like any other tourist and state they wan to visit you in Canada and include their itinerary. Would only ask for a 2-3 week visit.

They just sent a letter saying that the purpose of visit doesn't hold valid anymore. We had shown a job leave letter from work stating that they would be on leave for 2 weeks and will have to return back to work post that. One parent is working. They have travelled to Singapore.

Will apply for them as a regular tourist but just am a little concerned since there are many changes in immigration at the moment I just know a lot of people are getting refusals on visas specially from India currently. Do you think in that case it is just best to wait up and apply once things get better?

Or I had also though of creating a party invitation for a late graduation party and putting that as a reason for them to come since they didn't get an approval for my convocation they could still join in for a Grad party I am keeping specially for them and other friends and relatives?
