Hello, I have both British and Canadian Citizenship. I have lived in the UK my whole life but now I want to go to Canada to see what it is about. I do not have any family in Canada. I have both passports and a SIN.
I want to go to Montreal, which may be making more problems for myself.

I have spoken to my work and they are open to me working remote from Canada. However after some discussion we both conclude that we don't know enough about liability if I was a full time Canadian Resident and I've been asked to do some digging.

I know that if I was a resident in Canada for tax purposes, any earning I made remote while in Canada would need to be declared to Ottawa for their taxes.
Would my employer be liable for any Canadian taxes? Does a UK based employer need to make any provisions to employ someone who would be a Canadian Resident? Where would be a good source to get accurate legal advise?
Is there a mechanism by which I could set up a business in Canada and be contracted through that?
Thank you for your time,

Why not just go for a visit? Not Montreal but most major cities (such as Vancouver and Toronto) if not all cities across Canada. Talk to a cross border accountant is just your best bet.
