Hi,
The renewal takes about 40 days in total. So expect it around Nov 10.
Sadly, there is no provision to fast-track it once submitted. After submission, it continues with normal processing times of 6 weeks. I am not even sure if they allow tatkal services for renewal anymore. At least Ottawa jurisdiction does not allow tatkal passport applications at all. I would suggest you, keep tracking it via the inspect method to get the real-time Updates. BLS hardly provides any updates in this process. That way you will have an idea about the timeline..
Hey @popoye, could use your opinion on my case:

Applied: Sept 11 via postal to BLS Brampton Office
Current BLS status: Processing at Consulate General
Current SEWA status: Passport Application has been Granted

Here's the weird thing. Inspect mode shows that PV started on Sept 28, and on Oct 17-18, the police office has been changed twice, and that's the last update. So I'm coming up on day 50 with no passport. Also my ARN doesn't work on the main tracking link, I have to log into my SEWA account to see any updates. Any thoughts on what's going on?

This is so weird. BLS status will be the same until they receive the passport from the embassy.I have never heard about them changing the office. Hope you had filled up the correct one. I would only suggest knowing where your application is and which station is handling it.

I've used the same police station as my previous passport application years ago. I plan on asking a relative to check with the station. What should I be providing/asking for? I've never had to do so before so I'm clueless

You can provide the tracking ARN, Passport Number, Photocopy containing your Application file number(CA*13 digit number*) etc.
Explain them the situation going on with docs.
