Hi Everyone,

I am Inland applicant, My Application for Permanent Residence (AOR) was submitted in November 2023. I received an pre-arrival services email and medical passed in May 2024, but since then, there has been no further update. After ordering my GCMS notes, I learned that my file is undergoing a comprehensive security screening due to my previous employment at an airport in India. Based on the officer’s notes, it appears that my file was forwarded to CBSA in mid-May 2024.

There is also a due date mentioned in the GCMS notes under Security as January 10, 2025. I'm not sure if this date is set for CBSA to complete the comprehensive check or if it has another purpose. If anyone has insight into what this due date might indicate, or if recent timelines for similar cases have been maintained, I would greatly appreciate your input.

I have a few questions and would be grateful for any insights:

1. Has anyone had a similar experience with their file being flagged for a comprehensive security check due to airport employment?

2. Aside from GCMS notes, is there any other way to track my file’s progress? I’ve heard about submitting an ATIP request through CBSA or CSIS and would appreciate any details on this process.

3. What kind of checks are typically involved in this security screening? It seems my spouse’s file was also sent for screening due to my employment.

4. I understand processing times can vary, but if anyone has an estimate of the current average timeframe for comprehensive security checks, I would be very interested to know.

Thank you in advance for your time and responses. Any guidance would be a great help, as the wait has been quite anxious and challenging.

Just wanted to add my update here (if anyone else is in the same condition) to watch this thread. See my profile for my details.

Referring to this: https://www.getgcms.com/blog/what-is-security-screening-comprehensive-guide/#32-record-check-vs-comprehensive-check

I ordered GCMS notes (Request date on GCMS Notes: 12 August, 2024) and it said the following under NOTES section:

NOTES: 2
Created Date: 2024/07/09
Updated Date: 2024/07/09
Restricted: N
Label: EE Eligibility
Office: Edmonton IRCC
Text: *OFFICER REVIEW* - APPLICATION: REDACTED

FOSS/GCMS NAI
CBSA lookout hit reviewed - no concerns - does not appear to be same person as PA

Since there was a hit on my name received, that's why probably my application was referred via a ‘comprehensive check.’

I verified this by checking the following section in GCMS notes called ADMISSIBILITY:

SUB ACTIVITIES

SUB ACTIVITIES: 1
Created Date: 2024/07/16
Updated Date: 2024/07/16
UCI #: REDACTED
Family Name: REDACTED
Given Name: REDACTED
Type: Security Screening
Status: Received by CBSA
SII Indicator:
Validity Date:
Status Updated Date: 2024/07/16
Due Date: 2024/08/15

As this event (16 July) is after the lookout hit (9 July), I presume the officer sent my application to comprehensive check after the hit. (Only a presumption)

Good luck to all who's waiting!
What could this mean ? does not appear to be the same person as PA? If this is matched with any other suspicious/black listed individual then why they would say its not the same person ?
Do you have any update ? did you orders CBSA notes ? Thanks

Hi, Is there a way to track the possible ETA date for the GCMS note? I have made 2 requests but my ATIP dashboard doesn't show these requests.
Did you request to IRCC?

IRCC doesn't use ATIP dashboard.

If you did request to CBSA, it means the request didn't go through for some reason, so you would need to do it again.

I believe you can reach out to their ATIP coordinator/office but I don't think it will help.

Service standard for ATIP requests is 30 days. From my recent experience, you can expect to receive it in 5~6 weeks. For me they did not breach their service standard once for several times that I did request ATIP to either IRCC or CBSA.

Thank you. I requested IRCC notes but will do CBSA later today.
