My friend is apply for Canadian asylum, but the waiting is too long so that she wants apply for a Mexican resident visa as a backup plan. She asked me if it is OK.
Before or after applying for Canadian asylum and getting a fast Mexican Temporary/Permanent Resident Visa, will that result in a denial of Canadian asylum?
If the Mexican status is Temporary Resident Visa, one can argue it is only temporary, but after a few years, it elevates from temp to perm, which definitely raises questions for asylum applications.

It will be counted as a country of habitual residence if they found out you have right to live in Mexico. Where can i find more info about the Mexican Temporary Visa?

Search for Mexican consulate, then go to each consulate to check the requirement. It is only money based program, takes 51usd to apply, give you TR visa on the same day. Money requirement is like 100Kusd in bank for 12month then you are qualified. It is a tempary residency visa, not sure it means right to live. It is like you have a US visa, you can still apply for Canadian asylum.
