How long after background verification will PR be completed?

Hi i completed my bio aor and medical but background still on progess its alreadye take 3 month no any update what should i do my case its pr spousal sponsorship i applied on 2 February

Hi there. All you can do it to wait for now. Mine took 6 months and more to get the background check part done. Some take longer. I heard from people from January is getting P1/P2 and eCOPR so maybe good news for February applicants soon!

Hi. When did you apply? For now, people who applied in December 2023 started to get their background completed and P1/P2 email. I waited for my background check to be completed around 6-7 months. Hope this information helps!

well, i applied on march 2023 PR inland and Background verification status has been updated to In progress start on March 18 , im still waiting

Is it your spouse who is sponsoring you? Does your profile contain anything that would require more extensive background check? For example time in the military? If not I would ask your spouse to contact their local MP to see if they can help determine why the long processing time.

There's generally not much you can do. You can try hiring a lawyer to do mandamus but this typically doesn't work with applications delayed due to background checks.

Do you know why it's delayed? Are you from China or do you have a military or government background?

..no I am not in military or government background I don't have anny background why my security screening stuck?
How do I no about my application stuck in background security screening because I am not military or political I am free from all this .why difficult to be my wife can tell as why I find about stuck of my application?

As said above, the only real option apart from waiting is to do a writ of mandamus through a lawyer.

Only on taking said updated October 7 2024 but nothing changed on process system why only show updated but I don't gate on email msg ?

You and your spouse need to make the decision if you are going to do a writ of mandamus. Again, this doesn't always work where the background check is delayed. Consult with an immigration lawyer.
