Maldives on RTD with Etihad

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am living in Canada and holding a Refugee Travel Document issued by Canada, I am planning to Visit Maldives. For me for Maldives visa will be on Arrival and i confirmed with Maldives Immigration.

Can you please advise me on the following itinerary with my Canadian Refugee Travel Document , whether Do i need a transit visa please? As i have 14 hours transit in Abu Dhabi in bothways.

I am not intend to go out of the Airport during transit, i will stay in Transit area.

Can you please confirm that, Do I need a transit visa for the below mentioned itinerary with My Canadian Refugee Travel Document.

All the airlines will/have to accept travel documents as per the international law.other travel requirements you have to comply.

As far as I know, people doesn’t require the transit visa to any country unless you are planning to clear the immigration and exit the country ( example as you mentioned you have 14hrs transit and you asked Etihad if you needed transit visa and what they understood is you are clearing the immigration and you will exit the airport so they replied that you can’t travel to uae if you have travel documents).
if your intention is to exit the country then yes you need a visa but if you’re only transiting Abu Dhabi airport via etihad than you don’t need visa to transit.
for your better understanding. If you fly to Maldives via American Airlines/airport then you need USA visa because in USA airport there is no transit facility (you can’t go to another destination without clearing the immigration) but except USA London and some of Europe airports you doesn’t require transit visa.
Above info I have shared based in my experience. Always check with the travel agent before booking your ticket.
