OINP & CEC

Hello Guys,

I just received NOI from OINP employer job offer stream with score of 56 under NOC 11202. I have 14 days to submit the documents.
I am also in CEC pool with 493 score. I am expecting there will be CEC draw in coming weeks with reduce cut off CRS score.

My question:

If I submit OINP documents within 14 days and then I get ITA under CEC, Can I withdraw OINP application to accept CEC ITA?

Yes, you can withdraw. Depending on the stage your application is, you may or may not get a refund after withdrawing from OINP. I wouldn't be too confident on CEC draws going below 500 pts anytime soon.

Yeah I know CEC is tricky and no one knows what will happen in future. CEC is just a backup since It is much faster.

One more thing, Is there any stage on OINP application where I can extend my current work visa (expiring on Sept 30, 2024)

When you get nomination, you get a letter to apply for a closed work permit with your employer. If they're not willing to sponsor a closed work permit, you would have to wait for AOR after submitting PR application and then apply for BOWP.

Meaning letter to apply for closed work permit will take anywhere between 6-8 months. I don't have that much of time. Any recommendations?

Hey all, need some help. I got invitation under ONIP foreign worker stream. But I recently submitted my application for CEC. Should I submit ONIP for back up? Does it require express entry application number now or anything?

If you already have an ongoing CEC application, I would advise you to stick to that one. You can apply for OINP but the processing times are way longer and you would have for that second application.
