Urgent please!!!

Hi, I'm asking on behalf of a friend in India. He is getting an LMIA-supported work permit for a machinist position in Brampton, classified as a high-wage LMIA. He has a few questions. Can someone please explain how the draws for machinists have been since last year? He has a B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, completed in 2018, and after gaining one year of work experience in Canada, his CRS score is estimated to be around 342, assuming an IELTS score between 5.5 and 6. Will he be able to apply through the OINP, or would he be eligible for any other immigration streams?

He also wants to know whether the work permit will be closed or open. If it's a closed work permit, what are the limitations? Will he be allowed to work for employers other than his main employer?

His IELTS score is incredibly low. He would be limited to working for that specific employer and his CRS score is incredibly low to have a chance of getting PR. If he is paying for the job, which is not allowed, he should save his money and stay home and work on his skills.

Whether the work permit is closed or open will depend on the program he applies through. He would most likely need to apply through an employer supported / job offer stream which means the work permit would be closed and he would not be allowed to work for other employers until he has PR.

Hello,

My employer sponsored my LMIA since June 2024, and it's being six months now with no news as to whether it has been approved or not. My study permit will expire next year March and I don't want to run out of status.

Do you advise I get a new program of study for Fall 2025 pending when I will have news about my LMIA? Which province do you advise I go to?

I had the intention of going to New Brunswick community college but with them halting their express entry stream for PNP, I am really confused as to what to do?
