Recieved 20 months visa on POE letter for 24 month course

Hello all

If some one can advise please
I applied on 18th May for study permit for fall intake and I had to defer to Jan 2025 since I did not recieved any decision . I got my approval last week and now my online tracker shows permit number until 09/2026 , however I defer to Jan 2025 and my course end date is dec 12/2026 , I got visa for 20 month instead of 24 .

What are my options to extend those 4month ?

When you come to Canada then extend permit in the summer months of 2026.

Thanks since this is not actual study permit , do you think if I talk to CBSA officer about this situation will they be able to provide me study permit for 24 months since my offer letter has 24 months?

Usually CBSA will not do that because through IRCC but you can ask.
