"PR Eligibility: Should I Apply After ITA in October or Wait Until November for 1 Year Experience?"

Dear All,

By next month, I will reach 1 year of Canadian work experience under the CEC class, as Express Entry only counts the month. As a result, my score is expected to increase to around 520 points in the coming week.

However, my exact 1-year Canadian work experience will be completed on November 26, 2024. If I receive an invitation to apply for PR in the October draw, would I be eligible to submit my application immediately, or would it be better to wait until November 26 before submitting my PR application?

Hi, unfortunately you'll have to wait until you complete your 1 year of experience. My friend was in a similar situation and her lawyer asked her to decline the ITA because there was a very high possibility that her case will be refused because at the time when the ITA was submitted she still had a few days left before officially completing the 1 year mark. I know this can be frustrating, but would be safer in the future. Best of luck.

Wait until after Nov 26 to submit.
