How is it possible to take 17 months for visitor visa? Can anyone has the same experience? Why they do not reject? Rejection is better than waiting for rejection.

Visitor Visa outside of Canada
Ok. So what country? China/Iran or any country that Canada has poor relations and needs that country to provide immigration/security information. Has background check passed? Has eligibility started? Have you raised a webform or considered withdrawing and starting over?

The security Check has been passed, Issued 7 Webforms but nothing yet.
We like to consider withdraw if it is really helpful.

We do not want to touch the application (Mandamus) as we think the immigration office is waiting for any excuse to reject as much as they can.
If we had the refusal letter then we would send the case for Judicial review. but we do not have any update on application status yet.

Is it a good idea to withdraw and apply again? Or Do Mandamus?
The immigration office is very very aggressive these days.

Any Recommendation will be helpful.
When you say immigration is very, very aggressive these days…what do you mean by that? Have they sent you threatening emails? Get an immigration lawyer to discuss course of action. This is a volunteer forum and way above what you need.

They are actively seeking any excuse to reject applications. If you dare to ask questions or press for updates on your case, they perceive that as a threat and claim it shows the applicant has no intention of returning to their home country.
It sounds unreasonable but they are saying take it or leave it.

Opening the doors for 500,000 people and get them in without having proper infrastructure will cause this issues.

So how are they personally threatening you. Get a lawyer with your evidence. You must be so scared and IRCC should not be threatening you with words of violence. Discuss with lawyer next steps.

Also applicant is from Iran who can automatically apply for work permit upon entry. So Iran is included in the wave of opening the doors.
