Greetings, All. I applied as the principal applicant with my dependants for permanent residency under the Home Child Caregiver(HCCG) Pilot program in March 2021 and I paid for the permanent residency application fee. Just ten days ago,(11 Sept 2024 ) only me got a 5 year work permit visa to work in Canada for 6 months before getting my PR.

Please I want to know if my dependants are not supposed to be given dependant visas at the same time considering the fact that my application for PR under HCCG pilot program got approval? I applied from Nigeria.

Did they apply for work permits and study permits too.

No they didn't apply for work permit but they were included in my application as dependants and passed their medicals, biometrics, background security check etc.

So how are they coming to Canada? You applied for a work permit so you needed to apply for work permits for them too.

Thank you very much for guidance. Two of my dependants are minors(12 and 9 years). What type visa will apply for them. For my spouse I understand I will apply for work permit.

Okay thanks.
Since I already have open work permit here in Canada. How much should show as proof of fund and how long will it stay in my account to be able to apply for my 3 dependants (My spouse and 2 minors)?
