Hello, my employer has applied for a PR support lmia in February and it has been over 5 months. Has anybody been through this type of situation? Is it normal nowadays for LMIA to take this long?
Any information regarding this would be highly appreciated.

What exactly is a PR support LMIA? LMIA can take a while to be approved and with the new govt mandates coming out each day, it's not surprising things have slowed down further.

Are you still in Canada? What is your status? Will you get ITA with the LMIA?
I've just got ITA in August without the LMIA 50 points. But sadly I already left Canada when my WP expired in May. Currently desperately waiting for LMIA decision so I can come back and wait for PR to be processed.

So how would the LMIA decision help you? You would still need work permit and if PR supported then employer would not have paid the $1k. You are waiting for PR and will get PR.

I need to return to Canada with the LMIA as soon as possible since waiting for PR could take another six months. With my visa already in hand, once I receive a positive LMIA, I plan to get my closed work permit at the port of entry.

So your employer paid the $1k because you said PR supported LMIA? Did you mean dual intent? You have a valid TRV/ETA to enter?
