CEC Outland - Any info?

Hi everyone. I have submitted my CEC application (AOR April 14) as an outland applicant. I do have a current work visa for Canada until August and my common-law partner/'home' address are in Canada, but I am currently working abroad for the year. I'm struggling to find any recent information on CEC outland applications, mainly only threads from during Covid. Has anyone gone through the process as a CEC outland app recently? I am unclear how the process differs for an outland app, and what the timeline generally is, especially regarding things like sending in your passport.

If anyone is able to shed light on any differences in the process for outland apps, I would be so appreciative! I've done my best to dig around but to no avail.

I’m also Outland CEC applicant. My AOR is 7th June. Biometric and medical is done. Waiting for further updates now

oh wow! So fast. My AOR was April 15 and I only got my biometric and medical request mid June. I’m now just awaiting my background and eligibility check to be completed. May I ask what country you’re applying from?

I’m from India. Do you know anyone who got PPR and Outland applicant?

Hi there, I'm in the similar situation.

I used to work in Canada, but since my work permit expired, I am currently back in Vietnam waiting for LMIA documents from my company.

1/ If I submit my application now, it will be considered an outland application. Once I get the LMIA and return to Canada, can I submit a webform to change my address to Canada? (According to the sources I’ve read, the application will still be processed as outland, but the address can be changed. However, I’m not sure how this will affect the outcome or the application process.)

2/ In case I wait until the LMIA results come in and only submit the application after I arrive in Canada, I will need to get a new police clearance, and I might miss the 60-day deadline for submitting documents. My plan is to submit the application now and add the police clearance later via webform. Would that be acceptable?

You can submit your application now as outland. If you get your close work permit before getting Final decision for PR application. You can go to Canada and inform IRCc about your location change and update address.
that way it will be considered as inland and you can receive P1 and P2.
You don’t need to come back to your home country for passport stamps.
Although you can call IRcc and confirm about this.

I am a CEC Outland applicant, my AOR is Aug 17.
Can anyone please advise their timelines?
I haven’t received biometrics request till now.

I got my ITA and applied from outside Canada but put my current address as Canada. Will this be a problem as I am still outside canada and my status is Visiting as my pgwp expired before I left Canada

Hi, I studied and worked in Canada from 2021 but my pgwp expired in March 2024, I change status to visiting visa but I had an express entry profile from Nov 2023.
I left the country to Nigeria on June 30th 2024 but then got Ita under CEC in July 2024 so I applied from Nigeria. I did state in my letter of Explanation I was currently visiting Nigeria however the address I put as my current address was Winnipeg Canada. Does this affect me as I am not going back to Canada till November. Please I need help

Of course. You should mention your current address. And if you travel back to Canada you can update your Canadian address by webform/ when you receive P1.

Of course. It’ll be issue. You should mention your current address. And if you travel back to Canada you can update your Canadian address by webform/ when you receive P1.
