Eligibility for being a sponsor

Hi,

I became a permanent resident a little more than a year ago.
Am I eligible to sponsor my (future) spouse to come to Canada with me?
I read something on the lines of not being able to sponsor anyone for the first five years of becoming a permanent resident.
If this is true, is there any other way to get them here?

How did you become PR? If never married, you can sponsor spouse right after marriage as long as you are not on social assistance.

I got PR through Express entry. Not on social assistance, I work for a good company.

The 5 years wait is only people being sponsored by their spouses or common law partner via Family Sponsorship.
You can sponsor your spouse.
