Hi Everyone,

I am currently eligible for both the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC) under the Express Entry system.

Since July 2024, I have been working as a self-employed company director (link: https://sustainable-future.ca/), and I am seeking advice on how I can secure an additional 50 or 200 points for this role.

Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Sincerely,
Kunal

I listed NOC 88888 (Entrepreneurs - Temporary Residents) when submitting my Express Entry profile, but I’m unsure if it's the right one.

I haven’t started the LMIA process yet.

I currently hold an open Post-Graduate Work Permit, expiring in August 2025.

Do i need T4 for the business or T4 as an individual through my CRA account?

So you get no points (50 or 200) because you don’t have a LMIA. You are on an open work permit. You cannot count your work as Canadian experience if self employed. You need to have a T4 as an individual employee.

Zero points unfortunately since you are on a PGWP.

In addition to my current role, I have over one year of Canadian work experience from NOC A and B combined. While I’m not counting my experience as a director in my Canadian experience, I hope to secure additional points for it!

If you want the job offer points you need to be on a closed work permit / have an approved LMIA.

Ok, but there might be some alternative. Generating T4 from my company to myself seems promising!
That doesn’t help with LMIA though. Just that you can count the work experience as Canadian experience. You are an employee so your salary will want to be inline with the NOC.
