This is a bit complicated.
My Thai common law spouse of 4 years arrived in Canada on a TRV that is valid for 10 years. She arrived Feb. 2023
April 30, 2024 we applied for her PR status. May 25 we received her AOR. May 27 we applied for her OWP.
She received her OWP June 17, 2024.
July 30, 2024 I found out that she was cheating on me. (very long story) I kicked her out of the house and withdrew my sponsorship application for her PR. I received notification 5 days later that it was successfully withdrawn, She used me to get into Canada and she was planning on leaving me after she received her PR. They guy she was supposed to be with told me this. He found out who she really was and he dumped her.

She received a ETA June 18, 2024 and it expires June 17, 2029
Her OWP was issued June 18, 2024 and expires June 16, 2026
Her VR permit is valid until Feb. 15, 2025

She attended a 5 day Thai massage course in Aug, 2024. I looked at the IRCC website and it said if you received your OWP after June 7, 2023 you are not eligible to attend any courses. It also states that on her OWP. I contacted an Immigration consultant and they said if it's under a 90 day course she is allowed to do it. So I'm confused.

I reported her to Immigration for fraud but I guess they focus on more important issues. She was also working without a work permit. She posted on social media stating that she was at work. She also posted pictures of her doing pedicures and leg massages.

Since her VR expires before her OWP is she allowed to stay in Canada under the OWP? Or does she have to renew her VR permit?
Since everything is on file that I submitted through the web form. Would she be able to extend her work permit?
TIA

She is allowed to attend a short course.

She can stay in Canada as long as her OWP is valid. She does not need to renew her VR.

She can only extend her work permit if she qualifies for an extension. This would mean getting a job offer and approved LMIA from an employer.

TY for your answer.
So she would need both? A job offer (which she already has a job) and the place of employment which is a nail salon has to be an approved LIMA? I'm sure any Canadian or Permanent resident would be able to do the job. It's a Nail and spa salon with full body Thai massage.

She received a OWP on June 18, 2024 of an already expired date June 16, 2024.
So she can stay till her visitor permit expires on Feb 15, 2025. If the dates are correct, why would you say that her OWP expires AFTER her VR? It's already expired in June?!!

If she wants to stay and work, she will need to get an employer to apply for LMIA and with the approved LMIA she can get a closed work permit.
It's been getting hard to get LMIA approval and for people with visitor status to get work permit.
