Why do you believe that the security screening is limited to CBSA? It's possible, perhaps even likely, that other agencies are involved, i.e. CSIS (if you husband has ever been to Canada), Interpol, FBI, etc.what is everyone’s experience with Security screening timelines for spouse sponsorship outland? My husband’s security screening started in July 18 and we haven’t heard anything yet it’s the only thing left for the application
No no I’m not saying it’s limited to CBSA but because i got GCMS notes last week and it said that security screening has been sent to CBSA.Why do you believe that the security screening is limited to CBSA? I just don’t really get why some people take longer than others in security. My husband has never lived in any other country asides from our home country and he travels often for work/vacation with me and no military or political affiliations. We’ve been in this process for 2.5 years already lol and are hoping this doesn’t take longer than it needs toWell the five eyes for sure and some international databases including the country of nationality and residence.
Mandamus will cost you at the very least $4,000.No no, I should have been more specific lol the entire application has been in progress for 2.5 years (we submitted it April 2022). I reached out to them several times and they were very useless to say the least. MPs have no say in the application process nor can they push for any type of decision to be made, the most they do is “advocate” for your case. Our lawyer told us to start considering a mandamus and my husband and I didn’t want to risk negative outcomes and we got the pre arrival letter last month so the mandamus is out the window for now.
Yeah my lawyer quoted us about 1000$ for the demand letter and then 4000-5000$ for mandamus (wild if you ask me). Our lawyer told us to wait the 2 month mark since the start of the security screening before doing anything else. I just don’t know if a mandamus at this stage is the right option? Considering security screening has only been 1.5 months. Lol yeah I just found out through GCMS notes that an new officer was appointed to our file because the previous officer was “absent”, and to think this entire time i’ve been sending emails and they tell me they’re processing them. The new officer just past our eligibility, so apparently it wasn’t so complicated.Mandamus will cost you at the very least $4,000.
So you dont have to file for Mandamus. But you can inform the Visa Office through a WEBFORM, that CIC has left you with no other option than going for Order of Mandamus.
Just let them know. Your case has already been delayed for 24+ months!
We should not have allow CIC to put you in this situation.
Hi Ashes. Sorry, i guess you did not get what i was trying to suggest in my earlier message to you. Im not suggesting you to go and pay for Mandamus. NO.Yeah my lawyer quoted us about 1000$ for the demand letter and then 4000-5000$ for mandamus (wild if you ask me). Yeah I know a couple of friends like that but I keep seeing people who have been stuck for like a year so I’m kinda scared lolmy Security check took nearly 2 months so just be patient. There is also a lot of backlash toward immigration at the moment and targets have been slashed so that could potentially be another factor, causing them to slow down current applicants. Doesn’t mean you won’t get approved but could just mean it takes a bit longer. Background is pretty much the last hurdle for the applicant so you are almost there.
Hey!! Oh I see what you mean, this is very helpful !! I’ll recoup with my lawyer mid September if I hear nothing back about his security check and discuss it with her but I think this is a good approach. So it’s like a bluff lol?Hi Ashes. Sorry, i guess you did not get what i was trying to suggest in my earlier message to you. Im not suggesting you to go and pay for Mandamus. NO.
I suggested you to inform CIC through a webform, that 'because of endless delays, my next step will be Order of Mandamus since CIC has failed to process the application within standard processing time, or even twice the standard processing time and is now approaching 3 times of other applicants. CIC has also failed to provide an adequate answer for the reason of delays. The process is causing undue hardship on my relationship with my spouse and CIC has failed to provide any reasonable justification for keeping my away from my spouse. Hence, I have no option other left than getting Order Of Mandamus against CIC.
That should be the wording in your webform.
