Hello guys, after a long wait and multiple webforms only my medical got updated on Aug 10th
My time line
First application: 10.04.24
Refusal : 06.05.24 (non-payment of employer compliance fee)
Reapplication: 25.05.24
Biometric updated: 12.06.2024
Medical updated: 10.08.2024
Eligibility and BG check: in progress...
Can anyone shed some lights on the process as I am tired of waiting because its almost 2 months since my employment starting date has passed...

Processing from India is 20 weeks so well within normal processing times. Hopefully you will get an answer soon.

Could you please tell me, if they have already started processing my eligibility and BG check or they are yet to start?? I meant is there a specific order or everything is done in parallel?

I raised a webform stating that "My application comes under priority processing for work permits. As my job falls under ESSENTIAL SERVICES, HEALTH-CARE OCCUPATIONS with NOC 31100 (Specialists in clinical and laboratory medicine), LMIA exempt, and TEER 1 category. But I have failed to enter the NOC number in the job title box (box 4 in the Details of intended work in Canada section)".

IRCC response was
"Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
We are pleased to confirm that the information you provided was transferred to the responsible office.
Since your file is located at the Canadian visa office in Bengaluru (Bangalore), India, we also invite you to contact them in order to:

• Report important changes,
• Provide documents,
• Obtain information regarding the status of your application, or
• Enquire on an outcome of a request.

In order to contact this visa office, please fill out the IRCC Web form."
But the problem is the office in Bengaluru is permanently closed, so when I raised the webform I got an automated reply from New Delhi, office.

I have also asked for my CAIPS notes on Aug 6 as my job is at the verge of getting jeopardized because of the delay...
This is my current situation could you please guide me what to do next??

So if a doctor then you are licensed to practice in Canada? Raise the webform explaining that and include that in your file. It will be processed at New Delhi.

As for being an essential service that was a covid implemented measure and not sure if IRCC even follows that procedure anymore. You would have to find the operational instructions for that. Just found…These program delivery instructions are aligned with the Ministerial Instructions (MIs) that are in effect from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023. So not sure you have an argument for expedited processing.

As for being an essential service that was a covid implemented measure and not sure if IRCC even follows that procedure anymore. You would have to find the operational instructions for that. Just found…These program delivery instructions are aligned with the Ministerial Instructions (MIs) that are in effect from April 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023. So not sure you have an argument for expedited processing.

There is no specific order. If upfront, medical can pass at the beginning. Eligibility and background checks can take weeks or months. You say they are in progress. Depends on how long background checks take (getting immigration data from countries you have lived in, verifying documents etc.).

Okay, thank you so much....
Funny part is I have travelled only to a few countries that too for tourism purpose and I have not stayed anywhere for more than a week max. Anyways, hope I'll get my visa soon.
One last question, which one is more accurate in terms of status GC key or application status tracker
because GC shows Biometric, medical passed, Eligibility and BG check in process... (last updated Aug 10)
whereas App status tracker shows biometric completed, Medical, Eligibility - not started and BG check in progress (last updated June 12)

Your app has not been updated since June 12, but GC updated on Aug 10. Would follow GC that eligibility and BG in process. Do you have license to practice in Canada?

Yeah I am in the process of getting it, my registration is 95% complete only work permit and PCC are pending which are to be done after landing there

If not licensed then that may hold up the process. IRCC may want proof because if you come on a work permit, you cannot practice.

Yeah, but the registering body has issued a letter for that and the registration can be completed only after providing a work permit. For now I am only allowed to work only in the department of that hospital (like a closed work permit)

So it may take time to verify that information. You are going to Canada on a closed work permit. Processing times are 20 weeks so within times. All you can do is wait. Good luck.
