My 2 grandchildren (11 & 12 y/o) visit visa application to Canada was recently rejected. They already have travels in different countries in Asia and even in the UK 2 times in May - September 2022 and December - April 2023. And we are surprised that they were refused. Saying that they may not leave Canada after the allowed period of stay and insufficient family ties outside Canada.

Their parents are in Australia and only waiting a few months to process their permanent residency for all of them.

Their reason for visiting Canada is to be with my wife who already have a visa and for my wife to assist my son and his wife who will be giving birth by January 2025. As my wife is their legal guardian appointed by their parents (our son and his wife their mother). We have properties and small business in the Philippines, the ties we used when we apply our Canada visit visa.

Currently, my family of 5 is in 5 continents of the world. Me in Africa, my wife and my 2 grandchildren in the Philippines (Asia), my daughter and her family in the UK, my son and his family is in Canada and my youngest son and his wife (parents of my 2 grandchildren, the applicants) is in Australia.

Even me and my wife has travelled for more than 15 countries including the UK, Canada and USA.

And still my 2 grandchildren Canada visit visa was rejected.

How did they spend so much time visiting the UK? How were they not in school in Australia? Your wife is a visitor in Canada so it doesn’t make sense that they are visiting her in Canada and not the Philippines. The fact that she is their guardian would also be concerning. How long did they ask to visit Canada? It is very unusual for an 11 and 12 year old to travel from Australia to Canada on their own.

Thank you for your response.
First time we went to UK for my daughter's wedding and the 2 children was in online school as it's just after COVID. The 2nd time they went there was when my daughter gave birth and their school allowed them online schooling. Their parents did not bring them to Australia as they are not resident yet and schooling is quite expensive, so they are waiting till they processed their permanent residency to bring their children there. And my wife is not in Canada at present, we were there before in December 2022 till April 2023. Now she will be going again there and she wants to bring our 2 grandchildren with her as she was currently the legal guardian for them as their parents are in Australia. The reason my wife to go in Canada for the second time is because my daughter-in-law will give birth for their second child on January 2025.

in our case , visited Canada , visit visa was granted , stayed there for 2 and half months.
applied for Express entry which is not finalized yet.
Applied for visit visa again to attend family event for 3 weeks, it got rejected.
am not sure if the rejection has anything to do with an ongoing application.

It will likely be extremely difficult for the children to get TRVs but you can certainly try. They want to travel during the school year, they want to visit for longer than 2 weeks I assume, they are not with their parents who live in Australia, wife I assume is a temporary guardian and parents have not given up their parental rights, etc. Would be adjusting your plans to assume children will not get TRVs.

Likely does you have essentially declared you want to live in Canada not visit.
