French language proficiency CLB5

Hi Network,

I'm eligible for the FSW and CEC categories and I've accumulated 445 points in total (CELPIP - CLB7; TEF Canada- CLB5) with my application already in the pool.

My question is- Will CLB5 in the French exam (TEF Canada) make me eligible to get an invitation in the French language proficiency category?

Look at EE french draws and see if score is high enough.

but if i look here https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/submit-profile/rounds-invitations/category-based-selection.html and select French level proficiency, then they are asking for CLB 7 in french.

That is confusing!

Nope, you cannot.

To be eligible for a French draw you need CLB 7 in French.

Can you please specify the scores that should be achieved in different skills to be eligible for French express entry. Is it B2 level of proficiency or CLB 7 or a total of 400 to 499? It's very confusing.

"The TCF Canada assesses six levels of French knowledge (defined with reference to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages by the Council of Europe."

It's for 4 language abilities: speaking, writing, listening and reading. In each you need to have a CLB 7 score.
