Hi everyone,

I am seeking advice on my upcoming study visa application, which I plan to submit within the next 1-2 months. Two years ago, my study visa was rejected twice. At that time, I had been accepted into the master’s program in Geography at the University of Ottawa. Due to the visa rejections, I opted to pursue my master's studies at one of the top universities in China.

Now again, I have received an acceptance into a thesis-based master's program at a Canadian university, this time with full funding.

Although my academic profile has improved with two publications and full funding from the professor, I am still uncertain about the likelihood of my visa application being approved.

I would greatly appreciate any advice on how I can strengthen my application.

For your reference, I am sharing the GCMS notes below:

First Rejection Notes:
... documentation provided in support of the applicant's financial situation does not demonstrate that funds would be sufficient or available. I am not satisfied that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense. I note the applicant demonstrates approx XXX M Pak Rupees (XXX k CAD) available whereas UofO (per LOA) website indicates the tuition would be above 18k CAD - meaning there appears to be insufficient for tuition and living expenses. Weighing the factors in this application. I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay.

Second Rejection Notes:
Taking the applicant's plan of studies into account, the documentation provided in support of the applicant's financial situation does not demonstrate that funds would be sufficient or available. I am not satisfied that the proposed studies would be a reasonable expense.

On review of all information including PA's previous employment and educational history, I am not satisfied that their motivation to pursue studies in Canada at this point does not seem reasonable; study plan submitted is general and does not outline a clear career path for which such an educational program would be of benefit. PA states that he runs a XXXX business and wants to study a Masters in XXXX having previously studied a Bachelor's in XXXXX. I am not satisfied that the study plan is reasonable or logical and therefore I am not satisfied that the applicant would leave Canada at the end of the authorized period of stay.

The applicant's current employment situation does not show that they are financially established in their country of residence. Weighing the factors in this application. I am not satisfied that the applicant will depart Canada at the end of the period authorized for their stay.
For the reasons above, I have refused this application.

I would highly appreciate any advice or tips.

thanks,

So if you have a Masters, why are you doing another one. Makes no sense. How will taking another one give you better job opportunities and higher pay when you return home? What was the Masters in China, and now planned in Canada? How are you addressing past reasons for refusal? Also given you studied in China expect background/security checks to take a long time because the countries don’t have a good relationship. News articles that students wait over a year.
