Hello,

I submitted my express entry profile yesterday, and I was not awarded points for my job offer.

Background: I worked for my current employer in the US, and was transferred to Canada on a closed work permit. The job offer is LMIA exempt. I moved to Canada in Feb 2024, and working here since Feb 2024. I selected the right option to indicate I have a valid job offer, but my I don't see any points awarded for this.

Please let me know on why this could have happened.

Thank you

How long have you worked in Canada?

Since you are LMIA exempt permit, you cannot count the points until you have worked in Canada for a year. So in Feb 2025, the points will count with updated job offer.
Thank you for the reply.
But, in Official documentation, it lists the following points:
I satisfy all these conditions.

You don’t satisfy the second bullet of working for the employer in Canada. In February 2025, you can count the 50 points. This is a common question on the forum for LMIA exempt permits.

So per the above, you would answer no. You can answer yes Feb next year.

But, in This documentation for valid job offers for LMIA exempt jobs,
  1. workers transferred within a company (intra-company transferees with specialized knowledge) – only those that will benefit Canada with their skills and experience
I am on a closed work permit, and I am working for my current employer since Jun 2021. I was transferred to Canada under intra-company transferees with specialized knowledge. The above documentation states its a valid job offer.

You are on a LMIA exempt work permit. You don’t have a year of Canadian work experience to count the 50 points. Doesn’t matter if you have worked for the company prior to coming to Canada. Points will not be added until Feb 2025 with your updated job letter. This question is asked weekly.

You must work for your employer in Canada for a year before you can claim the 50 points. This is a well know rule. You are interpreting the information on the IRCC site incorrectly. If you set up an EE profile, you will see that you will not get the 50 points. You can argue all you like but that's the rule.

Thanks. Not arguing, just trying to understand the points. Appreciate you answering the question.
