Hi everyone,

My Mom got supervisa with an expiry date of until 2026, however when she entered Canada the border officer stamped her passport and wrote PG- 01 June 2028, can someone please assist in understanding what does it mean ?

in practice, if officer writes a date on the entry it should be considered. So congratulations parent can stay until June 2028 ..

Your parents can stay till 2028 if they do not leave Canada. Remember to purchase medical insurance for them every year. It could really really cost you if you missed it.

It also is a condition of the supervisa so you won’t actually be compliant with the terms of the visa which could make future visits much more difficult.

Not sure if I understand your question. They can leave and enter again any time before their visa expires.

If they leave, the next time they enter the time allowed would be determined by the CBSA officer. (can be up to 5 years but can be shorter)
They will need at least 1 year of supervisa health insurance next time when they re-entered.

What do you mean by they are able to purchase 1 year of supervisa each year ?
If a parent's health changes or they
have made a large claim via supervisa insurance you may no longer be able to secure supervisa insurance the next year which is a condition of a visit to Canada. A supervisa is a temporary visa so people are expected to return home at a certain point and/or if they can’t meet the visa requirements.
