Seeking Advice on Final Steps for PR (Express Entry FSW) and Job Search from Abroad

Hi everyone,

I'm currently in the last stage of my application for permanent residence through the Express Entry program (Federal Skilled Worker category - FSW).
I've just submitted the required documents in response to the PPR (Passport Request), and I'm feeling a bit uncertain about the next steps.

I could really use some advice and answers to a few questions:

  1. Job Offers for Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents: After I receive my visa and COPR (Confirmation of Permanent Residence), will I be eligible to apply for jobs that are typically reserved for Canadian citizens and permanent residents? Or do I need to actually receive my PR card and so going to Canada before I can do that?
I’m currently in Belgium and considering looking for a job in Canada before moving and quitting my current job here so I can directly move where I find the job that I want.
I'm a software developer and almost all hiring process has always be online anyway.

  2. Social Insurance Number (SIN): Is it possible to apply for a SIN before actually landing in Canada, or do I have to wait until I'm there?
How do you think I should proceed ?
Any tips or guidance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

1) No. Not until you have landed and become a PR. However you can certainly indicate that you have an approved PR visa.
2) No, not possible to do before landing in Canada.

Thanks for answering so quickly :)
But since I cannot get a SIN before going to Canada and I can't work in Canada without it, I guess this means that I have to quit everything, move to Canada, and only after that start looking for a job? So, does this mean I cannot find a job before going there?

You can certianly try to find a job before moving to Canada. You'll just want to make it clear that you have an approved PR visa but haven't made the move to Canada yet and therefore don't have a SIN yet.
