Hi guys, I am Canadian, but was borned in Viet Nam and my baby was also borned in Viet Nam. In this case, can I apply citizenship for my baby online or paper only?

Can’t apply at the moment since new policy not in place. Emergency situations may be considered for processing. How much time have you spent in Canada? You child may not qualify for citizenship.

How did you get Canadian citizenship?

If that's the case and the child was born afterwards, then the child is already a citizen.

Thanks everyone for advice, I got citizenship by naturalization (got PR in 2019 and citizenship in 2022), my kid was borned last month. Is my kid citizen? if yes, can I apply for the proof of citizenship online? or do I have to apply by paper?

Yes, your kid is a citizen. I would just apply online.

Thanks scylla for your advice, I have just found this info in the CIC website "If you were born outside Canada to a Canadian parent who was also born outside Canada, you must submit a paper application." I was born in Viet Nam, so Iam not sure if I can apply online. Please advice,

I think this refers to situations where the parent got citizenship through descent but I'm not sure and can't answer your question definitively.
