Would academic suspension prevent a new study permit?

Hello, I've been put on the academic suspension in university since May 2024 until the May 2025, however I have the open work permit that is valid until the August 2025.

Could I just re-apply for the study permit inside Canada once my academic suspension would be lifted? Also, does the academic suspension affect the study permit chances for approval. Thanks a lot.

As long as CUAET wasn’t cancelled when you received the study permit you can work while on academic suspension.
